Building a digital space to share experiences of racial injustice.
In response to the tragic death of George Floyd in May 2022, my team felt a need to take action. After gathering a large, diverse team, we got to work on building a digital space for open and safe dialogue on the black experience. Taking inspiration from Dr. Julia Garcia's Dose framework, whereby users respond to a set of prompts that guide them through difficult thoughts and situations, we built a new tool in just 5 days.
It was also important to provide resources to those struggling with these issues. Partnering with a number of organizations and experts, the tool provides additional guidance and support to users. The hope is that this tool helps those struggling with racial tension to find the space they need to cope, learn, and contribute to a more equitable and just society for all.
This work was completed during my time at a small studio.
